We are actively seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Manager, Data Scientist to join our Consumer & Retail Optimization Team within the Advanced Analytics department. The position is based out of Richmond, VA, and we are open to remote work arrangements.

As a Senior Manager, Data Scientist, you will be responsible for both driving the development and implementation of data science strategies, as well as managing a teams of data scientists. Your expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling will be crucial in delivering actionable insights and driving data-driven decision-making solutions for our marketing and consumer analytics operations. What you’ll be doing:

Lead, manage, and coach internal and 3rd party data scientists and data analysts to develop, execute, and maintain a suite of marketing attribution, consumer segmentation, and personalized propensity model solutions across multiple brands, channels, consumer types, and market geographies.
Accountable for the planning, design, and final production implementation of data science projects, and verify the quality, interpretation, and applicability of codebases.
Partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams to identify, assess, and prioritize key analytical needs
Craft and present analytical findings and recommended actions to business leads.
Work with cross-functional agile pods representing data engineers, brand strategy, and marketing operations leads to coordinate key quarterly analytics priorities and needs.
Collaborate with adjacent departments and functions, such as Data Strategy, Consumer Experiences, Consumer Research, Sales, Brand Management, and Finance, to align and orchestrate multi-quarter roadmaps.
Stay up to date, research, and test emerging technologies and techniques that could enable enhanced analytics capabilities for our marketing organizations.

What We Want You to Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Decision Science, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field. Master’s or other graduate-level degree is a plus.
8 – 10+ years of increasing accountability in people management, analytics, strategy, and communication. Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) related experience(s) is an advantage.
Experience leading a team of data scientists, data analysts, and/or data engineers.
Demonstrated expertise leveraging advanced analytics and AI/machine learning to meet business related goals and objectives.
Strong proficiency in conducting complex data manipulation, model analyses, and synthesis of results independently.
Demonstrated experience with SQL and Python programming languages; familiarity with Apache Spark & Databricks is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to convey abstract technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively and concisely.
Sense of urgency to deliver results, coupled with genuine curiosity to explore, learn, and experiment.
Confidence and courage to engage in discussions and debates across all levels of the organization.

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $143,600.00 – $219,050.00 / annually.
